Job Description
The Controller will support the Vice President of Finance in directing accounting, accounts payable, payroll, audits, and the financial reporting functions. The Senior Controller is responsible for consolidating financial statements from all departments. This is an analytical and financial management position which requires working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, able to do complicated financial tasks including, but not limited to, financial analysis, net revenue projections (contractual adjustments), financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, budget analysis and statistics preparation, and monthly closing transaction responsibilities as they relate to Patriot Mobile. This position will serve as a key function in oversight of financial performance of Patriot Mobile. Additionally, the position is an integral part of strategic planning and development of key initiatives and growth within Patriot Mobile. The Senior Controller serves as an expert resource for accounting with experience estimating net revenue (revenue calculations, contractions, and deductions for Patriot Mobile).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Supervise the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
- Oversee all general ledger transactions, the monthly close process which includes preparing monthly bank reconciliations, metrics, KPI’s, financial statements, commission reports, analyze exceptions, discuss exceptions with sales staff as needed, and prepare documentation for monthly journal entry.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Manage the production of periodic financial reports; ensuring the reported results comply with accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
- Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
- Produce the annual budget and forecasts and report significant budget differences to management.
- Provide financial analysis, with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Manage the external audit and provide needed information for the annual audit.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Assist with monthly board reporting package.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

- Proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise including inventory modules.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word) required.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

- Demonstrates problem solving capabilities and ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum 7 years of related experience required.
- CPA or CPA-candidate preferred
- Telecom Industry experience preferred.
- Controller experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in a variety of spaces to include cubicle, counter, and or desk areas.
- Must be able to move boxes or other items weighing up to 25 pounds.
