Position Summary
The vision of East-West is to glorify God by multiplying followers of Jesus in the spiritually darkest areas of the world. To promote this vision and provide ministry updates with our partners and donors, East-West is seeking an Events Coordinator to provide administrative and planning support for East-West events.
The coordinator will interact with a diverse group of external callers, donors, and visitors as well as internal contacts within all levels of the organization. Independent judgment and initiative are required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload under pressure and deadlines. In order to be successful, the coordinator must meet the objectives set out by the Development Department and carry out the required functions in an honest, competent, and confident manner. Flexibility, focus, forward-thinking, organizational skills, communication skills, and the ability to constantly re-prioritize are crucial to the success of this position.
A Day in the Life of the Event Coordinator
- Event coordination – 60%
- As directed, conduct research for future events where stories of faith, scripture, and
evangelism can be shared - Prepare agendas and other materials for event-related meetings
- Assist in managing logistics for all local and major development events, including venues, vendors, catering, insurance, travel arrangements
- Manage RSVP and check-in process
- Track event financials to ensure standards of good stewardship are being followed
- Assist in the management of event timelines
- Assist in managing communication with event sponsors and host committees
- Manage volunteers for events as needed
- As directed, conduct research for future events where stories of faith, scripture, and
- Administrative support and duties for the Development/Marketing Department – 25%
- Special Projects Management -10%
- Organize volunteer(s) to assist with various Development/Marketing projects
- Assist with overseas ministry-related events as requested
- Maintain communication with volunteers to make them aware of existing needs
- Other projects as assigned
- Contribute to, attend, and/or lead East-West sponsored spiritual formation activities and
perform other duties as assigned – 5%
The Qualifications of the Event Coordinator
- Uphold a close and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrating a healthy, growing spiritual life
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 1-2 years minimum experience working in a similar event role, preferred
- Flexibility, focus, and a strong work ethic are essential
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including proficiency in evaluating and prioritizing issues
- Ability to follow through and juggle multiple tasks and projects
- Conscientious and detailed
- Ability to take initiative within the scope of job duties
- Solid judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in grammar and spelling
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality, poise, and tact

- Ability to work well under pressure and against deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Office and Outlook and other standard office software
