POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Director is responsible for implementing HR strategies that support business
objectives, forecasting staffing needs, mitigating risk, structuring benefit packages, maintaining employee records, managing budgets, designing accountability mechanisms, and overseeing overall employment and employee needs. This person will also maintain the HRIS system and facilitate all leaves per organization policy and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Upholds the Mission, Vision and Core Values of MarketPlace Chaplains in all day-to-day activities.
Collaborates with Executives in the development of policies and processes for the various functions of
Human Resources, and the organization such as recruiting and staffing; performance management and
improvement systems; employment; employee orientation, development, and training; documentation;
employee relations; compensation and benefits administration; company employee and community
communication; employee safety, and welfare.
Advises, provides direction, and implements multiple Human Resources programs, initiatives, services
and functions for the organization. Participates in developing strategic and operating plans, and
interprets, adapts, and integrates relevant policies and procedures, as appropriate.
Responsible for managing and supporting the assessment of organizational needs and the design,
implementation and evaluation of programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of chaplains, employees and executive staff.
Responsible for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all Human Resources matters. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization’s compliance; keeps leadership aware of emerging trends and legislation.
Maintains Employee Handbook, conducts periodic satisfaction surveys, trains and develops HR staff.
Facilitates Leaves of Absence (LOA) requests. Ensures eligibility for statutory and organization’s leave
programs. Maintains appropriate documentation, responds to requests according to the appropriate
timeline. Follows up with employees on return to work with applicable restrictions and/or accommodations.
Participates in audits of HR processes and policies to ensure compliance. Develops regular reporting
mechanisms for operational and regulatory reporting. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and
results in relation to established goals.
Measure HR effectiveness by analyzing and tracking key metrics.
Must be able to follow a set work schedule with minimal tardies and/or absences.
Conducts internal investigations in strict confidence and records results appropriately.

REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree with a major in business, human resources, organizational development, or
Industrial Psychology. Ten years of related experience, including management experience or
experience leading an HR department (Degree granted must be from an accredited college or
university).
2. Professional human resources certification such as SPHR, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR.
Experience and in-depth knowledge and understanding of the integrated functions of human
resources and operations in the business environment. Experience with, and knowledge and
understanding of a range of human resources best practices and compliance requirements.
3. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines associated with employment
law, employer regulatory requirements, human resources management.
4. Demonstrated competency in Business Acumen, Communication, Consultation, Critical Evaluation, Ethical Practice, HR Expertise, Leadership & Navigation, and Relationship Management.
5. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information and records. Demonstrated ability
to set up and maintain filing/records system (HRIS). Ability to interpret and apply federal, state
regulations.
6. Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with diplomacy, patience, and courtesy with diverse
groups; ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships while
providing exceptional customer service.
7. Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive confidential
issues.
8. Demonstrated skill in working independently and completing assignments with minimal
supervision. Skilled in project management, strategic, analytical and critical thinking. Must
effectively prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely and accurate manner under
pressure of deadlines, and with frequent interruptions and competing priorities.
9. Demonstrated skill in analyzing information to define and follow up on problems or objectives.
Ability to identify solutions and independently act toward solving problems.
10. Demonstrated skill in developing, implementing and interpreting policy and procedures related to
the position and keeping others informed.
11. Demonstrated computer proficiency. Demonstrated skill in developing spreadsheets and
databases based on organizational data and KPIs.
12. Demonstrated experience using various HRIS, data management and payroll systems.
Knowledge of budget preparation and fiscal management.
