Position Summary

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration of IT systems that includes business applications, messaging systems, networks, directory administration, and third-tier systems administration of on-prem and cloud servers. This position is also responsible for helping ensure servers are patched, backed up, and secure from unauthorized access and installing, maintaining, and upgrading servers and other related infrastructure components.

 

Duties and responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, and Active Directory domain
  • Responsible for datacenter equipment to include server and network firmware, OS and security updates, installation, and cabling
  • Serves as an escalation point to other IT staff members
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system logs, alerts, and tracking the nature and resolution of issues
  • Maintain IT change management processes and logs
  • Apply OS and application patches using patch management software
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for setup and configuration procedures and processes for IT team reference and training
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts used to manage and support the Microsoft 365 environment
  • Responsible for creating, modifying, and managing Azure conditional access policies
  • Responsible for Identity and Access Management (IAM), including password management, MFA, and Single Sign On (SAML SSO)
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining backups and backup strategies for both computers and servers
  • Responsible for IT asset inventory management
  • Assist in routine disaster recovery failover testing to include server validation and access abilities after failover
  • Assist with annual network penetration testing and vulnerability management, and remediation

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • Four (4) years of hands-on work experience as a systems/network administrator
  • Expert knowledge of Apple macOS computers and Apple iOS for mobile devices
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory in a hybrid environment (Azure AD and Azure AD Connect)
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications including Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Intune/Endpoint Manager
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems (2012R2, 2016, 2019)
  • Experience managing VMware vSphere and vCenter server virtualization
  • Experience with networking (802.1X, VLAN, RADIUS, VPN, MAC Filtering)
  • Experience with NAS file storage
  • Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication software
