We are looking for an outgoing, motivated Staff Accountant to join the organization’s finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a broad range of transactional, reconciliation and other accounting activities. Functions include AP, payroll, credit card reconciliations, and expense report processing. The successful candidate will have a “roll-up-the-sleeves” attitude, be able to multi-task, and ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in monthly close including preparing journal entries and monthly accruals and reconciling accounts to the general ledger.
- Generate monthly financial statements and other ad hoc reports.
- Prepare and reconcile intercompany transfers.
- Record investment activity.
- Handle quarterly and annual tax filings.
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial audits and month/quarterly reporting for board meetings.
- Process all accounts payable and credit card transactions.
- Prepare daily deposit reports.
- Reconcile bank statements.
- Maintain gift annuity plan records and process monthly distributions.
- Prepare monthly benefit statements, including retirement plan contributions.
- Performs other duties & responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- Full-time
- M-F 8am-5pm
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2+ years’ experience in accounting or related field.
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills; familiarity with Blackbaud and Concur a plus.
- Ability to handle change in a fast-paced growing company, along with “wearing multiple hats”.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
