Summary of Position
We are looking for a Social Media & Content Specialist to support and optimize our organization’s digital marketing programs. Ideal candidates for this role should be creative and innovative, have a firm grasp of the different digital touch points, multimedia savvy, well-organized, and must be excellent writers and communicators. Your creative thinking skills and strategies will be an essential part in driving our digital narrative, enhancing our organization’s image, improving digital communication with clients, and encouraging business growth through effective campaigns.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage all of the organization’s social media accounts including but not limited to: XO Marriage, MarriageToday, Jimmy Evans, Dave and Ashley Willis.
- Developing social media content plans that are consistent with the company’s brand identity.
- Concept posts for social media and communicate ideas for creative team or contractors to execute.
- Create consistent, meaningful content on all social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, improving customer engagement, and promoting social media campaigns.
- Create a social media content calendar and execute all posts.
- Create a blog content calendar and execute posting of the articles to the website.
- Execute emails including newsletters, weekly devotionals and more.
- Coordinate getting blog content from various authors. Generate suggested content ideas and titles for authors to write about.
- Communicate with social media followers, including responding to queries in a timely manner.
- Managing brand reputation by responding to negative reviews in a timely manner and escalating issues as needed.
- Coordinate and work with influencers on product launches and general promotions of the XO Marriage brand.
- Staying up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media.
- Performing other duties when needed.
General Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, PR preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience with demonstrated success in social media community management, community building, social media strategies, and outreach.
- Passion for and experience using social media either personally, professionally or both
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Must possess strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Understand social media platforms and their use in professional settings
- Good understanding of brand identity and how that applies to selected imagery and design aesthetic.
- Graphic Design Knowledge. Must be able to edit template based projects in Canva, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator.
- Extensive experience in graphic design and feel comfortable designing from scratch. (not required but a plus)
- Photography experience: including shooting photos, and editing in Lightroom/Photoshop (not required but a plus)
