SCOPE: The Junior Developer role serves as an integral part of the Data Analytics team, which delivers services that support every department at Seed Company and other organizations in the Bible translation movement. The purpose of this role is to assist in the design, development, and maintenance of systems utilized for collecting, processing, storing, and analyzing data with an emphasis on supporting the Data needs of Seed Company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Assist the Data Architect in maintaining data pipelines and integrations with software systems.
• Assist the Data Architect in developing and maintaining relational databases in AWS and other cloud platforms.
• Assist in keeping the organization’s data within BI tools current and up-to-date, allowing for accurate, data-driven decisions.
• Conduct troubleshooting of BI tools in response to issues reported.
• Ensure that all data transformations run successfully and on time.
• Develop authentication methods for various APIs in the Bible translation movement.
• Leverage SDKs provided by Seed Company BI tools to build additional functionality as requested by the Data Strategy Manager.
• Work with the software development team to ensure data intake from in-house applications functions properly.
• Design and perform data analysis as directed by the Data Strategy Manager.
• Work with Seed Company staff to create data visualizations in our BI systems.
• Stay abreast of industry trends relating to data and software development.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
• No supervision requirements.
OTHER DUTIES:
• Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups as directed and maintain required level of knowledge pertaining to operating procedures, requirements, processes, and policies.
• Lead and or participate in projects or task force groups which focus on issues having organization-wide impact.
• Perform or assist with any assignments as required or directed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment within a highly collaborative, synergistic, high-paced team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasional exertion up to 10 pounds, lifting a box of paper, moving chairs, tables, and sliding doors.
TRAVEL:
One to two weeks of domestic travel as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong faith in Jesus Christ as Savior; God-honoring lifestyle.
• Passion for the Word of God and provision of the Word for every people group.
• Championing Seed Company’s vision, mission, and values.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2-4 years experience in technology, data management, or finance in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Solid, demonstratable understanding of SQL and Relational Databases.
• Experience coding and documenting APIs.
• Experience with coding languages (Python, JavaScript, Typescript, R).
• Familiarity with Jupyter Notebooks or similar IDEs.
• Familiarity with BI products (Domo, Power BI, Sisense, Tableau, etc.)
• Proven problem-solving aptitude.
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
• Computing certifications (A+, Sec+, Network+, etc.).
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, Google).
• Domo certification.
• Administration experience with popular software platforms (SalesForce, Intacct, Monday, Office 365, G Suite, etc.).
