Job Description
SUMMARY
This position assists the Manager of Guest and Audience Relations in all aspects of guest relations and hosting with respect to LOI television events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the research of available testimonies and guest materials given to LIFE Today from the Phone Center, by mail, publishers, publicists & other sources. Evaluate such materials as assigned and submit findings in writing to the Manager of Guest and Audience Relations. Follow up on submissions as needed.
- Extensively research current topics and potential guests, compile facts and pertinent information in a readable format for the manager, producers, and any other appropriate staff involved with the show.
- Assist with arranging travel for approved guests, including booking flights and hotel as well as coordinating and/or providing ground transportation to and from the studio.
- During show tapings, will assist the manager in coordinating the guests’ activities by obtaining release forms and helping to escort them to necessary locations such as make-up, dinner, and the studio at appropriate times. Eagerness to serve and above-and-beyond hospitality are expected throughout any taping events.

- Read assigned books every week and provide a comprehensive written evaluation of the content, theology, potential controversies, and other important information as it pertains to our LIFE Today hosts and viewers. In addition to a written report, research and provide the best available videos of any potential guest in order to evaluate his/her on-camera communication style.
- Utilize social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), relevant news outlets, and other appropriate sources to research current topics, identify potential guests, and compile facts and pertinent information in a readable format for the manager, producers, and any other appropriate staff involved with the show.
- Work with Producers and Inprov to coordinate social media promotional strategy for guests in advance of shows airing.
- Anything deemed necessary by management.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Professional and warm communication with a variety of people via phone, email, and in person
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Computer skills Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc)
- Listening and comprehension skills
- Prior marketing experience helpful
- Prior experience working with events helpful
- Ability to work in a self-directed setting
- Ability to follow orders
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A College degree is strongly preferred, but not required; public relations and/or marketing experience is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to co-workers.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand and carry out written, verbal, and/or demonstrated instructions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit much of the day. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to focus.
