Position Overview
The Facilities Manager position is an important role that supports ICR and the ICR Discovery Center. In this role it is expected you will manage & negotiate contracts with service providers, inspect & maintain the facilities and equipment of ICR through regular preventative maintenance while properly repairing and replacing worn or end of life items throughout the campus. This is a leadership role in which you will also manage other facilities personnel. The ideal candidate will be required to demonstrate basic working knowledge of proper safety procedures, the ability to work a flexible schedule, possess a sense of urgency, and be capable of completing tasks effectively and efficiently.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Ability to listen to the needs of the staff & complete work with comfort and convenience in mind
- Directly perform regular facility and equipment inspections for safety, performance and appearance
- Oversee internal staff including cleaning personnel and other maintenance staff
- Engage outside vendors to perform or assist with repairs and replacement of old, damaged, or worn out items
- Ensure that all equipment is in safe and working condition at all times
- Prioritize various needs while managing a complex calendar; timely resolution is key
- Maintain records and documents of work completed
Other Skills/Abilities/Necessities
- Experience and knowledge of plumbing, electric, and general maintenance responsibilities
- A self-starter who is perceptive of their surroundings, seeing needs and initiating fixes
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, volunteers, and guests
- A high level of observation, attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency
- Must be able to follow dress code and maintain a professional appearance
- Demonstrate personal integrity & responsibility
Qualifications
- Knowledge of ICR & agreement with our core principles and purpose
- Written testimony of salvation
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- A personable, friendly, and hospitable demeanor
- The ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength
- Prior knowledge of the tools and equipment necessary to perform maintenance type work
- Available to work various hours each week, as we are open 6 days
- Proven experience in facilities &/or maintenance environments
