Elementary Teacher, Private School – Part-Time 244 views

Trinity Prep is a private Christian school with openings for Elementary Teachers for the 2022-2023 school year.  We have openings for both 2- and 4-day per week positions.

This is a PART-TIME position with a part-time salary that is suitable as a second income for a household, but is not a full-time wage. Teachers work Monday through Thursday. Please do not apply if you are not able to affirm and sign a Statement of Christian Beliefs, as we are a ministry first and a school second; all of our teachers and staff are a vital part of this ministry.

We are a College-Style School; students attend classes on campus two days per week. We partner with our parents, as students complete most of their coursework outside of class, at home. Our mission is to provide an excellent, Christ-centered educational environment that is a true collaboration between home and school.  Our small size and commitment to excellence make this a wonderful teaching environment.

The Elementary school day is 8:15am to 3:30pm, Mon-Thurs. Students attend classes either Mondays and Wednesdays, or Tuesdays and Thursdays. The two programs mirror each other: what you teach on Monday you repeat on Tuesday; what you teach on Wednesday you repeat on Thursday. So, you prep once for two class sections.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach age-appropriate lessons in Math, Language Arts, Science, and History; although Bible is not a separate class the teachers incorporate Bible lessons throughout the curricula.
  • Assess students periodically, conducting both formative and summative assessments.
  • Maintain communication with parents; this is a partnership model of education and parents will teach and support their students.
  • Plan weekly at-home assignments for the students and communicate the parent’s role in completing those assignments – whether to teach or to allow students to work independently, whether to grade the work or submit for teacher assessment.
  • Students have a PE teacher, Lunchroom Monitor, and Recess Aide, so classroom teachers do not cover those times during the school day unless needed to sub.
  • Plan special events such as Living History Day, Christmas program, Science Fair, and other learning extension activities, both independently for your classroom and in conjunction with other Elementary teachers.
  • Use FACTS system to enter weekly grades so parents are informed about their child’s status.
  • Schedule parent conferences as needed and be available for parent requests for conference or email communication, as needed.
  • Communicate with Admin and Education Specialist for any students who may be non-traditional learners, to develop strategies or enlist additional support to meet the needs of those students.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Desire to be a part of a Christian ministry
  • Ability to work part-time for a part-time salary
  • B.S. in Elementary Education or alternative certification preferred; other candidates with relevant teaching experience may be considered
  • Teaching experience required

Trinity Preparatory Academy is a private, Christian, K-12 College-Style School. Students in Kindergarten through 12th grade attend classes two days per week, and study under parent supervision the other days of the week. Students attend either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, so our campus is open and teachers are present four days per week of the school year.

We are a classical, college-prep, and CHRISTIAN school; do not apply if you cannot sign a Statement of Christian Beliefs, as our school is a ministry and all teachers and staff are a vital part of that ministry.

About Gateway Church

We’re all about people because God is all about people. One of the ways we express our love for Him is through our love for people, and we do that by helping each person who comes to Gateway grow in their relationship with the Lord.

It begins with our vision to see people saved, healed, set free, discipled, equipped, empowered, and serving. Everything we do revolves around those seven things. And it all starts with our weekend services. We meet in six locations across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, and you can even join us online if you aren’t in the area.
