Daystar Español is looking for an experienced and creative Social Media Specialist & Editor (Fluency in Spanish) to join our team at our Headquarters Office in Bedford, Texas.
As a Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our Social Media strategy to increase our online presence and improve our marketing and sales efforts. You will be working closely with the Marketing and Sales departments.
The Social Media Specialist & Editor is responsible for creating and administering content on all social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, to build an audience and ensure customer engagement.
Additional responsibilities include monitor site metrics, respond to reader comments, and oversee creative design.  Solid understanding of how each social media channel works and how to optimize content so that it is engaging on those channels.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share daily content (original text, images, video, or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
  • Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content
  • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community
  • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights, and best practices, and then acting on the information
  • Collaborate with other departments (customer relations, sales etc.) to manage reputation, identify key players, and coordinate actions
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Fluency in Spanish required
  • An exceptional writer with proficient verbal communications skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and work well under tight deadlines.
  • Able to demonstrate poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Capable of exhibiting a sense of urgency – with specific regard to monitoring, prioritizing, and responding in near real-time.
  • Able to think creatively and strategically in all social media promotions.
  • Prompt and can maintain satisfactory attendance, including timeliness.
  • A life-long learner who keeps up with the latest trends and innovations in social media.
  • Dedicated follower of Jesus Christ who wants to join a ministry with a heart for the world.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Experience with generating ideas and working under minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer service and support skills (required).
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, After Effects and InDesign software applications.
  • A degree in marketing, public relations, or related field (preferred).
  • Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, CRO and SEO.  
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role.
  • Familiarity with web design and publishing.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including strong Spanish spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Portfolio of work available.
