Position Summary:

The Administrative Assistant to the Junior High Principal supports the mission of our school by providing support services to the Junior High Principal. The Assistant plays a crucial role by providing professional administrative support and aiding the Junior High Principal in the carrying out of his/her duties. The Assistant will report to the Junior High Principal.

Status:  Full-Time / Non-Exempt / 12-month

Responsibilities:

  1. Handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information where judgment and discretion are essential by maintaining absolute confidentiality.
  2. Support and assist the Junior High Principal in the administration of his/her duties that may include written correspondence, managing her calendar, filing, photocopying, emailing, credit card reconciliation and other general accepted office duties.
  3. Schedule appointments for the Junior High Principal and manage his/her calendar by providing direction using independent judgment to determine prioritization.
  4. Create and manage all schedules for the Junior High School to include but not limited to master class/teacher schedule, student schedules, course enrollment/leveling and schedule change requests.
  5. Create templates and build report cards, managing dates/deadlines and verifying accuracy.
  6. Create parent correspondence and respond to questions and requests as appropriate.
  7. Consistently look ahead at the calendar and help with preparing in advance for activities and events that are coming, which include communications, correspondence, and planning.”
  8. Responsible for acquiring substitute teachers when needed and  maintaining substitute calendar.
  9. Attend weekly Faculty meetings and record minutes for distribution.
  10. Manage the Junior High After School Program.
  11. Implement and execute special projects as assigned by the Junior High Principal in the planning and support of events that may include and not limited to coffee talks, discipleship groups, new student enrollment, Duke Tip, Grandparents’ Day, Surveys, Awards, Student and New Teacher Orientation and Testing.
  12. Maintain and uphold the religious standards of Faith Christian School to include the Lifestyle Statement, Staff Covenant and Statement of Faith.
  13. Responsible to disciple, instruct and actively pray for the students on our campus.
  14. Responsible to reinforce a Biblical Worldview in every workplace interaction with both students, staff and faculty.
  15. Other duties as assigned that are closely related Expanded Responsibilities List.

Qualifications:

  1. Must possess and model a personal authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
  2. Must have a high level of discernment and wisdom, and the ability to manage confidential information.
  3. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and e-mail.
  4. Proven leadership skills with an ongoing commitment to grow as a servant-leader and manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently.
  5. Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with the President and Board’s expectations, established school policies and procedures, and the school mission and core values.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and relational skills and the ability to adapt to new technology.
  7. Must have a high school diploma.
  8. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  9. At least 3-5 years of administrative experience is required.
  10. Professional experience in the education field is preferred.
